On 'Midlands Today', there was a (typically uncritical) 'advert' for 'Didgeridoo Healing'.

I kid you not - the sound of the Didgeridoo can heal your back pain!!

As I slipped in the snow yesterday I am suffering a bit with back pain. Do I take Nurofen Plus, see a physio or call Rolf Harris?

See a psychic surgeon - you know it makes sense - well, as much as digerwhatnot does.

Warm bath, and take your dog(s) out for walkies.

That'll be £45 please.:cheesy:

Refitting the bathroom and one dog refuses to walk in the snow despite her darling padded snowsuit and booties. (Though the boys loved their walk:smiley:)

Do I get a refund;D

And Nurofen Plus is only about £4 for 8 tablets.....(more codeine than I really like, but hey - it works:smiley:)

Still - Rolf Harris!!! (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HmL3m2zcoOI)

As a totally generous , and indeed wonderful person, I would have waived the (very modest) fee, had you not posted that link to the vomit-inducing song of RH.

Isn't inflation terrible? So that's just £518 - ta greatly.

At £4 for 8 tablets you may in future want to consider paramol as a replacement. It is only available from a pharmacist (without prescription) and will cost about £4.50 for 32 tablets. (Anecdotes: the girl friend uses it for period pain and swears by it. I use it for back pain and migraines and also swear by it). It contains dihydrocodeine rather than codeine and lasts a couple of hours longer*

For this little tit-bit of information I shall undercut bindeweede and come in at a mere £500 for my services

*A wee bit of chemistry: The hydrogenation of the c=c double bond of codeine yields the dihydro which is chemically more stable

I second paramol.

On a slightly more OT tangent, what's the one called you can buy over the counter that has diclofenac in it?

Wiki gives an alternative name of Voltarol which im sure is available via prescription only. Used to have a nurse friend who would steal me it from hospital as it was great for hangovers and migraines

ETA: yep would seem to be prescription only

I'm sure I seen an advert the other night for it though. I don't think I could possibly be mistaken :-X

Edit: Got up off lazy ass and googled: http://www.pulsetoday.co.uk/story.asp?storycode=4120557

That report was from September 08 though O0

I might ask the pharmacist about it next time I am in. I was prescribed it once when I broke a couple of ribs.

Here is Spain it's a bit different.

I have been able to get Diclofenaco OTC for my back for the last few years. Until recently you could also get some antibiotics.>:-)

But whereas in England you can buy paracetamol etc. with your petrol or morning paper or groceries, here you can only get it from a farmacia.

And they do not sell Resolve at all:'(
