Is David Icke a con man?

I personally think David Icke has mental health problems and I agree the media have magnified it and therefore made him a joke figure.

He did seek that media attention but to be fair he was already in the public eye so it was latched onto for a "good story". If he had been your next door neighbour then things would be different for him, he would be the man next door ranting about alien lizard people inhabiting humans and would probably end up under the care of the local mental health team.

I agree that Icke isn't a "con man" as such.

L Ron Hubbard was in it for the money, he never believed what he was saying. Icke suffers from the need to be the centre of attention. From goalkeeper to sports presenter to Green Party spokesperson he was always watched and admired. When this all went away he came up with the "son of god" predictions of world end stuff. Since then he has completely changed his story a couple of times to create new media interest because he wants to be looked at.

I think Icke is more like Paris Hilton than he like most of the the woo-woo brigade that are discussed on this board.

Perhaps you're missing the obvious point that he's so obviously utterly batshit insane that no-one gives a damn what he says, other than having a little giggle.

How exactly do you propose that he is able to prove that the Queen is a reptilian shapeshifter? Let her scaly tail slip out of her pants at the state opening of parliament, did she?

Surely they would only want to "silence" him, by court order or otherwise, if he could prove his views ...

It is a complete fallacy that people in positions of power or otherwise famous should simply have to refute any allegations. Why should they bother? The only allegations they should have to refute are those backed by evidence.

Without any solid evidence there are literally an infinite number of allegations you can make. Is that so hard to understand?

If a fraction of what Icke says were true he would have been silenced by now. The fact that he is still alive and talking proves that what he says is rubbish. After all, he claims that they eat people and have covered it up successfully. That the Queen Mother was really much older than they pretended (so her birth records, childhood photos, etc, were all faked).

Suppose, for the sake of arguement, that there really was a global conspiracy and that some of the world leaders that Icke slanders were members. Not necessarily shape-changing-reptiloids but the illuminati or Priory of Sion or something. How easy would it have been for this organisation to have given him a drug overdose and had him found dead in a sleazy hotel? Or fake a drink-drive car crash? He doesn't have some kind of security force protecting him, I saw him wandering around alone in London last year and could have given him the old polonium injection or just eaten him or something if I was one of the reptiloids.

If he had randomly happened to hit on a small grain of truth about a global conspiracy then he would have been silenced by now. He is a good arguement against his own claims, and other slightly less mad conspiracy claims.

David Icke Interviewed on Radio 2 by Russell Brand Midway through this interview he comes out with the George Bush Paedophile line, and also uses the word: 'Nutorious' just to add more strength to his comment, as if it needed any more

At that point Russell huffs and puffs and does the usual 'The comments just made are not the views of the BBC' line - but then swiftly moves on. There is no challenge to David to provide evidence of these very serious claims.

Most definatly slander. It also makes me wonder why the 'dump' button wasn't used. Everything goes out with a delay, so they would usually cut statements like this, that could potentially get them into legal trouble
