I'm dissapointed, as Cruise nuttiness goes this is rather mild.
Actuall, Scientology isn't all that funny. They have a record of harassment and threats and can get very nasty, I believe.
Cruise is nuts indeed. But the person who disappointed me was John Travolta. After watching the wonderfully cool, streetwise character he played in "Pulp Fiction" it was painful to think the real man was another credulous dork.
I agree, it isn't funny at all in reality. However I think that making making Scientology a figure-of-fun religion is potentially a very good tactic at keeping it in check. How many peopole are going to want to admit to being part of a religion that is publicly ridiculed?

You are right, it is never going to get rid of it, but it makes me smile when I see how people who nothing about Scientology, still think it is nuts. If only we could get people to think about other religions like that.

Even in the video that everyone is laughing at Cruise makes reference to "KSW", which stands for Keep Scientology Working and is all about the infallibility of L Ron Hubbard and the importance of the ordinary members behaving themselves and not thinking for themselves.
But all that stuff about Thetans and Xenu? Hillarious, you have to wonder if old L Ron wasn't taking the mickey don't you?
