The question of whether it is right or wrong for a Christian to own a TV is controversial. Personally, I think it depends upon the individual. For example: some women have a tendency to become lazy and sit around watching soap operas instead of getting their housework done. In such a case, I think, a Christian woman ought to not have a TV, unless she can discipline herself concerning what and when she watches TV. If a man is experiencing unholy sexual temptations because of the things he is seeing on TV, then I think he ought not to have a TV. The same is true of the internet.

I have no sympathy with people like Kent Hovind (...) but it bothers me when the only way the authorities can get these people out of the way is a trumped-up tax evasion charge. By this I don't mean they were not evading tax - just about every rich person in the world evades tax and gets away with it - but I think it is very unlikely that the powers that be really had saving taxpayers' money in mind when they brought the charges.

It seems like he had numerous chances to pay up and avoid prison, after having been reported by an honest Christian, but he didn't take any of them. Most rich people who get caught at least have the sense to put their hands up and try to settle.

I guess that suing the IRS and threatening its employees probably didn't help.

It seems Hovind is so arrogant that he either thought he could get away with it, or he's incapable of admitting being wrong.
Possibly he's just spent too long being surrounded by dim and weak-willed suck-ups, and he mistakenly thought the jury members would be as easy to convince.

God exists becasue I say he does

(1) the senese of the relaity of God is unqiue and intautve. if you don't have it you just dont' have it. But the verfication of it is the working out of sueprnatural effects in the life of the believer.


(2) God is the Transendental signfiider, there will always have to be a thing at the top of the metaphysical hierarchy and that thing is God.

Let's hope they don't. Partial illiteracy is a useful indication that most of the people saying these things are morons. If I see a grammatically correct, well argued case for religion, then I worry.
