Yet ANOTHER out of focus insect / spider on the front glass of a CCTV camera. When will people ever get bored with these?
a pub which of course at some point used to be a funeral parlour (possibly)
The Sun
Interesting how it shot out of the window at the end. Or is that a TV?

I want to see the far more interesting CCTV from next door.
It looks quite 'authentic' (should such a word be applicable)...
...but then they spoil it with the ending! The 'whizzy bit' looks like something from Ghostbusters. It doesn't appear to have any perspective and it feels as if the footage has 'sped-up'. There is something not quite right there - It's suspiciously alien compared to the rest of the piece.
We should also consider that the story is being promoted by The Sun. There is quite a big chance that both the pub and Thomas Cook have been getting a few more customers recently.
The Sun almost always have some horrible back story to whatever they are covering. It usually involves money changing hands and distortions of truth, although sometimes it can be motivated by political bias. It's an awful grotty little publication, but you hardly need me to tell you that.
Still - it kept me busy for 5 minutes.
If that's what it is - yes.
It doesn't look like it's in the room, so an insect on the lense is a pretty logical explanation. However, there is no way of knowing whether it's an insect or not - It's way too distorted.
I'm fairly positive it's not a dead person from another dimension. I think they would have better things to do than book a holiday at Thomas Cook or go for a pint.
Then again, if I were eternally undead I suppose I'd need a pint. But how would I drink it? And do ghosts wee? So many questions...
The insect isn't on the lens - you wouldn't see it there (too out of focus and unilluminated). It is on the protective glass in front of the lens. It's not distorted, just out of focus. For experimental evidence of this common type of CCTC image see here.
OK, I'm now settled in my own mind that it is an insect. Thank you.
But that is irrelevant considering the following notion -
My only niggle is that a believer will still argue that the image is too out-of-focus to be anything in particular. Therefore, belief in ghosts and goblins will persist even in the face of such a rational explanation.
But then isn't that the whole problem these days?
If someone is determined to believe in something, evidence is neither here nor there. One thing believers DO take seriously, however, is personal experience. Get THEM to put insects on the cover of a CCTV camera and video it. There is a small chance that they will accept the result. But only a small one ...
Ghosts do most definately exist, and if you Skeptics think otherwise why are you calling them ghosts.
Ghosts are basically entities who have been badly treated on the Earthly plane and for some karmic reason they have decided to haunt their locals to say hello to all and sundry really. Treat them with respect like you would with an Elder!![]()
Do not patronise me, I am aware it is about a camera shot but hey why are you quoting paranormal stories from THE SUN NEWSPAPER!!!
I know why cos it is a paper for skeptics basically now isn't it. The filming I saw and I was convinced something paranormal happened.
I will be here to open your mind and thoughtforms right now!!!
Hello again Tiswas.
I learned this a few years back - One of the most common spelling mistakes in the English language is 'definately' - It's 'definitely' (with a second 'I' replacing the 'A'). Remember that one and you will win brownie points in future posts.
I digress...
No-one here is discussing the existence of ghosts. In fact, everyone here (except you) has stated that they do not believe the image is a ghost. In effect - no-one is calling the thing on the film 'a ghost'. I am not entirely clear where you are coming from.
As for your theory on what ghosts are, that is truly fascinating. How did you acquire your in-depth knowledge of the spirit community and the undead?
I'm going to regret this aren't I?
