It is probably needed mainly to cover staffing. It's not as if they're inviting in a team to see if the place is haunted. Instead, they're saying 'if you think the place is haunted and you to look, we'll hire it out to you for a night'.

i have allready been to the galleries of justice and its not a bad place and most haunted went there on series two i think.

i have also been to newstead abbey near nottingham and they do the od ghost night at helloween and thats a massive place and i think its owned by the national trust and its a good place to go in the summer for a day out,

the old salutation inn in nottingham also do a lot of ghost nights for money now,

Newstead Abbey is owned by Nottingham City Council, boring fact fans.

Its called "dark tourism" jamie. It allows people with preconceptions about the paranromal to part from their money to help maintain buildings plus the upkeep and suppliment staff wages.

They promote a myth and in many cases manufacture a "haunting" to elicit business.
