    Misleading headlines

I know the Entertainment Web Site 'Digital Spy' doesn't have a monopoly, but in one day two misleading headlines.

    "French reveals 'Big Brother' Passion"

Well, of course I instantly thought 'Chris French'. He would be brilliant on Celebrity Big Brother - might even make me watch it. But oh no. It's Dawn French, with her autobiography to flog, they are talking about.

    Then - breaking news!!!! Astounding!!!!

    "Brown slams domestic abuse rumours"

Surely not - like him or loath him, Uncle Gordon would never raise a hand to the lovely Sarah. In deep shock I click the link. No, it isn't the PM. It is Bobby Brown, with an autobiography to flog, denying he was ever violent to Whitney Houston.

OK, the Chris/Dawn confusion I can forgive and forget - probably more my fault.

But on a UK site - the most famous 'Brown' has to be Gordy. Not some has been ex-boy band member.

Deliberately misleading? Or an example of our celebrity & money culture?

    Who "Brown", who "french".
    Don't judge a headline by it's cover

    So its me

Surely the 'Brown' headline was misleading - who'd think Bobby over Gordon?

MM, no, it's not you. Never heard of Bobby Brown - but then I live in my own rather nice, special world.

I've heard of the muppet - he was filmed on a reality show talking about assisting his wife, Whitney Houston, in toileting.

So when a headline comes up with 'BROWN' I tend to not even think of Bobby, but to the slightly less embarrassing Gordon.

However, I do think I'd like your Bobby Brown free world

Please, pull up an ink-well, and have a dip!

Edit. There are some odd people who think I am a bit strange.

    Strange.

I saw a headline in the New Scientist a few weeks ago which said something like "Murray Has Foul Mouth" and I thought, well, that doesn't surprise me but why are they writing about tennis players? Then I read on and it was about pollution in Australia's River Murray...

I thought Pete Murray, which shows my age in a most horrific way.

And if it comes back, I can’t get rid of it a second time. My healing doesn’t work a second time."

Gosh yes! I don't mean to be rude but... wow... Pete Murray? I'd almost forgotten that he ever existed.
'Croydon' Bob Newman. The ladies call him "Thrush" - as he's an irritating cunt.

Don't worry. From what I remember of him, he didn't.

This one had me fooled for a second

Peter Andre presents Jordan with children of courage award
He spends all of his free time helping young people in a city centre youth club but yesterday 15-year-old Jordan Powell took a day off to pick up an award at Westminster Abbey.

"Cricket earns big testicles title" - a BBC News website headline which had me baffled. Why should cricket encourage the growth of bigger testicles than other sports? Why would it occur to anyone to find out? How did they do the research?

All is revealed by clicking on the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-11718029
