I have a bone to pick with you Julia!

Your cartoons took me to the stripgenerator and how cool is that!? Unfortunately I have absolutely NO imagination, I mean NONE and have have been aimlessly putting little characters in place while hoping for inspiration and remembering what it was like doing art at school (I could draw a thing very well, I couldn't create a thing to save my life). That knowledge, the knowledge that I have a minus score when it comes to creativity, had been successfully buried in my psyche for decades - but no, along you pop and show me what could be one of the coolest tools for truly home grown wit and so I'm sat here all over again - just like the art class comaparing my very carefully made pot to my neighbours sculpture and knowing, just knowing I lack the magic beans.

    PAH!!

Despair not, Floppit! It takes a bit of time to familiarise yourself with the awesome technology of Stripgenerator - ie "How do I make a ghost look fuzzy?" and "I wonder how you turn the background red?" I think the best way to start is to illustrate a woo quotation rather than jumping in at the deep end with a completely original concept. Once you get the knack inspiration may follow.

There's a lot of potential here for sceptic-tinged cartoons. Someone from the JREF Forum once used Stripgenerator to make a whole series of comic strips about one "Bishop Bonkers" (Sean Manchester) and his arch-enemy David Farrant, two of the protagonists in the Highgate Vampire Saga. Unfortunately the enterprise ended in tears when both the cartoonist and David Farrant violated Stripgenerator's copyright by using the images on T-shirts and a self-published pamphlet!
"If I get rid of the cancer and the person decides they don’t want treatment any more either they’re too busy, or they’re too mean with their money, or they just think they know better the cancer often comes back. And if it comes back, I can’t get rid of it a second time. My healing doesn’t work a second time."

I'll have to be careful here because Stripgenerator is ADDICTIVE. Here's another effort:

'Croydon' Bob Newman. The ladies call him "Thrush" - as he's an irritating cunt.

I was unaware of this thread, I will have to explore older post's when I get time...

I'm a freelance artist myself, cartoons not my area....does make me wonder if I should branch out though....time permitting. Hmmm...
