    Will this be banned?

A little background: In this highly antipipated game a guy named Kratos, a violent anti-hero, is hunting down the gods of Greek mythology to ultimately get his revenge on Zeus for making him kill his wife and daughter, the brutality is one of the selling points of the game.

As you will see the game has perfected art of gore but do you think it will be banned? Should it be banned?

WARNING!! This is the most brutal of the 3 videos. Watch till the end, oh and the guy at end is Helios

What do you think will happen on March 2010 when the game is released.
Please do not watch if you are easily upset, otherwise what ALL of it.

Gore? Is this aimed at 13 year olds or something? All looks quite tame and boring...and it's not in 1st person and there's no guns.

    Or Germans.

Bloody typical, they've gone back to metric without telling us.

    Or Germans.

Yeah - he tore his head off and it shone with light. Yawn.

Have you seen the opening 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan?

It's really no-more violent than Mortal Kombat or many more like it. I guess the Eye Scream moment with the cyclops was the most wince-worthy but nothing that Megyaku: Naked Blood doesn't have beat hands down.

How strange, Saving Private Ryan seemed so dull in terms of gore, but this looked so much more entertaining to me.

Had a look at some screens, virtual gore appeals to me more than real I guess. I still fear it might get banned because its a game. But I suppose I should be happy with your reactions.

Dull?! Men being blown to pieces, the sea turning red with the sheer amount of blood in it; the chap who picks his own arm up after it gets blown off him was based on an actual event.

Makes any video game pale into insignificance.

Always better if its in anime/manga or game form.

Looks fairly mild to me but i play a fair amount of computer games, it certainly doesnt seem out of the ordinary, manhunt for instance I would say is worse.

I tend to find psychological horror more unpleasant than gore though.

The cyclops scene reminded me of the cave troll scene in LOTR film (apart from the the eye gouging bit).

    Therefore better?
Japanese horror is more psychological while American is more gory.
If you look at the survival/horror genre games, originally they started with the Japanese horror style but now they tend to be more toward the action adventure end of the spectrum with gore thrown in.
I think that is a shame but common. Something becomes popular in America, gets Americanized and ruined. Just look at the difference between Chinese Jackie Chan movies from the eighties and the Hollywood ones today.
    Worst signature ever.

Yes it's an unfortunate trend, I find myself looking up a lot of subtitled films before hollywood remakes and often ruins them.
Let the right one in was a decent horror flick I saw not long ago, I wonder how long before the remake comes out.

lately was a screenwriter of any violence-game on telly. He did behave like a hooligan. Absolutely no brain.

I agree with you completely on this, I can't remember actually being frightened since the original silent hill game.
It's not just horror, the big RPG's from Japan are being overshadowed (with a few exceptions). Also they tend to be a bit more thoughtful with their games, ICO and Shadow of the colossus being two of the best examples.
