Australia has qualified for the World Cup for the second time in succession.

I am not a follower of sport, so would that be the World Cup Boomerang Throwing Championship? Tiddlywinks? Gurning?

Ah, football! I did actually attend one of those games......1964ish. I had to stand, in the cold, for almost 2 hours! Dreary and boring. Twenty years later, I sat though a cricket experience. Even worse.

Ah, cricket! The great national game...a couple of days ago the England cricket team was beaten by the Netherlands, where it is something like the 25th most popular sport.

Yes ... brilliant ... and to top it all, West Indies beat the Aussies! All we need now is for Scotland to beat South Africa and Ireland to beat Bangladesh!

We should create an InterBrain (the InfoBrain) , if all our brains connected we can rule the world. (We could practice on Croydon first)

Well, yes ... but they didn't do too badly against New Zealand on Saturday. Admittedly they have a few suspiciously South African sounding names in their team.

There was some talk on the radio today about cricket being popular in St Andrews ... perhaps the only place in the world where you get "snow stopped play"?

I watched the England Netherlands match and a few more over the weekend. The England game was tremendously exciting.
Mousse from a bowl is very nice, but to put it on a person is demented!

Ok I'm only kidding Scotland does have a cricket team it was so unusual that it made the news on tv a while back and I had to check to see if it was April. The only reason it was on the news was that it was Scots willingly doing cricket, do you call it "playing" when every one stands still for hours.

Any game that goes to the last ball is pretty certain to be a blast. When it's the cricket equivalent of Manchester United getting beaten by Barnet FC, it's even better!

Trouble is, there probably won't be any other matches in the competition as good to watch as that one.

Good to see England beating Pakistan so they won't be kicked out ... but I still enjoyed seeing them get beaten by Netherlands. Now, if only Netherlands could beat Pakistan as well ...
