    To Tape or Record

For a bit of fun how many of you have a DVD recorder, digital TV freeview box with a hard drive, an mp3 player and other digital recording devices.
I would not wonder that quite a few of us do, Now for the big question do you or your partners still say “Taped” a film, program or music. Even though you know there are no tapes in your DVD recorder do you still say I have taped or I will tape this or that.
Is there a generation gap that stands out that refer to taping a program and one that says record a program.
    Listen to what people say.

Record or video, never tape! I haven't used a tape for anything for years.

    Sidestep a bit.......

DrS do you get British telly in the Canaries? We do here in southern Spain but we need a 1.3 metre dish and the bet Pace digibox money can buy. This is because we are on the edge of the 'footprint'. How do you manage?

You can get British TV here, but we don't have it. We decided straight off that we'd not cope with becoming fluent in Spanish, let alone deal with the Canarian accent, if we had British TV so we ploughed straight in with Spanish.

Others here, though, have a range of options I believe, from Sky (using UK-acquired cards and digiboxes as far as I can make out) to BBC/ITV/Ch4 packages. There is a Digital+ thing too, which is mainly a Spanish satellite package, but which shows many programmes in the original language ... which is often English. Apart from this last Eng-lang option, I have been told that every UK package they get here otherwise is illegal .......

ETA: I'd say that the majority of Brits in Tenerife live on complexes, so the option is usually arranged through the community, and the satellite dish (normally huge) is placed out of sight on communal ground.
