Me and the Mrs sat down and watched this tonight for the first time in a decade or more. What had put us off was the incredibly poor content and the political voting.

We were surprised that there was indeed some half decent content this year!

We won't be watching the next one...

From 9 to 10-30 pm, I was brushing up my Swedish with the excellent "Wallander" on BBC4.

I watched for a few minutes. I like to let it warm up for an hour or so. The first thing I saw was this group with some girls. The girls had butterfly wings. I changed channel.

I went back twice.First time was a daggy* group of boys in plaid pants which had to be seen to be believed. I changed channel again.

Finally, near the end. Where on earth do they get those superstars who front the thing?

    * 'dag' originally New Zealand slang: It refers to pieces of excrement hanging off the rear end of a sheep. Americans call them 'dingleberries',which I see as a bit precious

Precious, possibly, but an evocative word which could usefully be applied to psychics, mediums, healers, CTists, and the likes of

Dr. Simoncini diecovered that the cause of this terrible illness is a fungus and tried hard to persuade scientists how wrong are the actual theories on cancer. His therapy based on the strongest antifungal substance, sodium bicarbonate, is harmless and very effective and should be adopted all over the world.

I was surprised to see Germany win, usually it's one of the three standard voting blocks. I won my bet though, I gambled that UK would finish in the bottom 3 :)

I didn't watch it. But I've noticed the usual media claims that everyone is biased against the UK.

The only two songs that I've heard are the UK and German songs. The German song is awful, was it really the best? THE UK song is a vile stinking turd of a noise. Who the hell gave it points? Surely there weren't any entries that sounded worse than that?

I haven't watched Euro since Bucks Fizz were in it (went to school with Jay Aston) and I don't intend watching it again anymore than I intend to take up spiritualism or become a scientologist.
'Croydon' Bob Newman. The ladies call him "Thrush" - as he's an irritating cunt.

Reading about the German entry, it seems they used an X-factor/Pop Idol-ish program to choose the singer, maybe that's an idea for the UK (as much as I hate those programs).

They have to do something different if they want to win!
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well yes, that means Susan Boyle could have represented the UK.
