BBC: "Ghosts" found at county museum

Seems to me that the photo they show looks more like Darth Vader than Judge Jeffries.
Nothing to compere with to see what might have been being photographed.

I'm also not sure why Mary Anning would be wandering round a museum missing a head when she died of breast cancer.
    Radical surgery gone wrong?

It does seem a bit odd to jump to the conclusion that a ghost must be someone famous.
Somewhat reminiscent of past-life regression people being more likely to end up channeling past royalty than a dung-encrusted peasant.

It's difficult to make anything out from that image. The colours look to be mostly noise. I suspect this is a crop from a larger frame. It would be interesting to see the original but, personally, I can't see a figure. It would also be interesting to compare this shot with a well-lit, noise-free high resolution photo of the same area.

Determining the 'identity' of ghosts is a murky subject. Rather than someone positively identifying a figure they've seen from a selection of pictures of candidates (a process which, in itself, is prone to misidentification), it usually comes down to someone associated, or thought to be, with the history of a building. I've yet to come acros any ghost that was identified by any even vaguerly satisfactory way.

If they had motion detectors, what would be interesting would be to see decent-quality video of the detection zones.

Show various people decent-length clips from around detection events and other times, and see if they can see anything, then compare their times with the detection events.

This picture is interesting because it seems that the Ghost is really of Judge Jefferies but he is stuck in the lower astrals realms at this moment.
Judge Jefferies must of done something very bad to be in this situation but with a good psychic he can be 'led into the light'.

Some of the members of BARsoc have been researching this story back to it's roots. We've spoken to both the team and the county museum and people are being very reluctant to give us information or the original photo.

We've obtained some low-res copies and also comparison photos from during the day and it's clear that this isn't a ghost (surprise!) and that also, in the full photo it's quite clear to see what is causing this effect.

One member is currently writing a detailed account of our research into this, I'll put a link up here when it's finished.

The article written for BARsoc can be found here.

Interestingly, prior to putting the article up I spoke to the press contact for P.I.T and they have commented a lot on our article. It's quite insightful into how the case was thought out from their p.o.v
