Full scale Noah's Ark to be built.

Yes, a "full scale" Ark is to be built as part of a Creation Museum in Kentucky.

To give you some idea of the scale of this vessel

    http://www.creationtips.com/arksize.html

Noah's Ark was huge! If you wrongly imagine the Ark looked like some of those little cartoon boats in children's story books, with a couple of elephants' trunks and giraffes' necks sticking out the top, think again.

Genesis 6:15 in the Bible tells us the Ark's dimensions were at least 135 meters long (300 cubits), 22.5 meters wide (50 cubits), and 13.5 meters high (30 cubits). That's 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high! It could have been larger, because several larger-sized cubits were used. But the 45-centimeter (18-inch) cubit is long enough to show the enormous size of the Ark.

I wonder if they are going to employ 600 year-old construction workers and use 7000 year-old construction techniques (or whatever)

Actually this site answers a lot of questions I had about the flood e.g.

How could Noah's Flood cover mountains like Everest?
    Always wondered about that...

Mount Everest lies between Tibet and Nepal in southern Asia. It is 9 kilometers high. The waters from the worldwide Flood of Noah's time would cover a fairly level earth only to about 3 kilometers. So how could the water form Noah's Flood cover Mount Everest?

The answer is that Mount Everest was formed after or during the Flood — it wasn't in existence in its present form before the Flood. We know this because its higher parts contain fossils of sea creatures and seashells, showing that it is made of rock that was once under water.

And I expect the Kentucky tax-payers will be happy at chipping in $37 million in tax incentives.

You think that's huge, take a look at it alongside the a T1 class supertanker. Appologies for poor image editing software.

Everest was and is the only ark traffic control centre. Of course it has been modernised (made taller) over time to be sure it can operate even when the flood is deeper (or higher?)

I wonder how they explain the lack of sea creature fossils on other mountains which are over 3km high? Heaven forbid they use the mantra 'absence of evidence is not evidence of absence'

Presumably they have a supply of doves ready for the big day.

This could actually be a "win" for rationality if it proves to be much harder to build than they expected and is then seen to be quite small compared to modern vessels.

Both are still available in shops such as Modelzone and Hobbycraft.

"Get every detail right with Airfix"

    Except in this case methinks...
Bloody typical, they've gone back to metric without telling us.
